BBB Inductions

Not a member of the Rho Epsilon Chapter of Tri-Beta at Ship & want to be? Here's your chance!! An informational meeting will be held for possible new inductees on Tuesday, February 28th at 3:30PM in FSC 256. 


Letters & emails have been sent out with this news, however I am proud to announce that we will now have associate members as well as our active members! Associate members are individuals who are interested in being a part of Tri-Beta, but don't meet the requirements.  Associate members can participate in any activities active members can except for voting on new officers or other official business. 


If you want to me a member and did not receive a letter or email, please check the requirements & email me. 


Requirements:

  • Be at least a second semester sophomore
  • Have taken at least 3 biology courses at Shippensburg University, one of which is not introductory (ex. Principles I, Principles II & Genetics or Microbiology
  • Have a 3.0 average in their biology courses

Valentines Meeting Minutes

Thanks to everyone who was able to make the quick meeting today. If you couldn't make it, here are the highlights:
  • cheek swab for bone marrow bank: 1 point
  • Earth day: it will be here before you know it! keep thinking of ideas
  • "science nerd" shirts & hoodies are on sale again. see below for details tell your friends & family!
  • Sign inside & outside of 248 for tutoring
  • Seminars=0.5 points
  • Join the Facebook group=1 point!
  • Points for becoming an officer! Ask me or other officers for details about what's involved. We'll be electing new officers at our next meeting on March 22nd!
  • Tri beta conference at St. Francis University in Loretto, PA on Saturday, March 31st= represent our chapter of tri-beta, present your research, possibly go to the national conference for free in Puerto Rico, & get points! email me if you want more information
  • Bioclub is having pizza party and cranium on Friday at 2PM in FSC 248
  • Those of you who do research at ship, your abstract is due on Friday (Dr. Elliott wanted me to remind you)
  • We will be going to "Bodies: The Exhibition" on Saturday, March 24th. There is a pretty good chance we'll be carpooling. Email me if you'd be interested in driving. Tri-Beta members will get a discount after they attend the trip. Tri-Beta will probably pay about half, depending on how many members go.
  • Members graduating in May, email me if you have not done so already so I may tell you how many points you have.
